As specialist recruiters, everyone at Hays is very much aware of the part we play in the community at large. After all, the success of local and national communities and their economies is intrinsically linked to the success of the organisations working within them.
We take our job seriously, helping organisations to find the people they need to flourish and helping individuals to make the moves they need to further their careers.
Beyond the role of the Hays business, we also actively encourage our employees to contribute to their communities. We support local charities in all of the countries in which we operate and enable our team members to give their time to voluntary work on a wide variety of projects. Working with charities is also a key part of our leadership training too. We have had teams focused on improving the employment prospects of disadvantaged people as part of the Hays Advanced Management Programme. It’s an excellent opportunity for our employees to put our specialist knowledge and experience to great use.
Managing the environmental impact of Hays and its suppliers
As a recruitment company we have a relatively low environmental impact,but at Hays we believe we can always do more. We’re 100% committed to reducing our use of energy, water and raw materials, as well as increasing efficiency and reusing materials wherever possible.
We also recognise that our own environmental initiatives don’t work effectively in isolation. We’re developing environmentally-sensitive procurement procedures, which encourage suppliers and contractors to minimise the environmental impact of the goods and services they provide to us. We’ll only select a large supplier once we’ve established its policy, practice and targets in the areas of corporate responsibility and environmental management.
